How to Connect a Bluetooth Keyboard That Just Won't Pair
Your PC sees the keyboard, but it refuses to connect or keeps asking for a PIN. Here is how to bypass Bluetooth pairing glitches safely.
The Endless Connecting Loop
Bluetooth is notoriously finicky. Sometimes your computer will discover a keyboard but infinitely spin on the "Connecting..." screen, or it will ask for a PIN but provide no input box.
# The PIN Code Trick
If Windows asks for a PIN for a device that has no screen (like a keyboard), try this bypass:
1. When prompted for a pin on the screen, use your old keyboard (or on-screen keyboard) to type 0000 and click Connect.
2. Immediately, on the new Bluetooth keyboard you are trying to pair, type 0000 and press Enter.
This synchronizes the handshake.
# Clearing the Bluetooth Cache
If devices refuse to be removed from the pairing list: 1. Open Device Manager. 2. Enable "Show hidden devices" under View. 3. Expand Bluetooth, locate the grayed-out keyboard, right-click, and select Uninstall device.
