Update your wireless network adapter drivers and configure power management to stop Wi-Fi drop outs.

Adjust Power Configurations

Disable the Windows driver power saver option inside Device Manager properties to prevent network adapters from dropping internet connections.

# Step 1: Modify Power Management Settings

1. Press Win + X and select Device Manager. 2. Expand the Network Adapters list. 3. Right-click your active wireless card (e.g. Intel Wi-Fi or Realtek) and select Properties. 4. Go to the Power Management tab. 5. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power and click OK.

# Step 2: Turn off Network Band Steering

Sometimes your card drops connection when attempting to transition automatically between 2.4GHz and 5GHz router bands: 1. In the same Properties window, navigate to the Advanced tab. 2. Locate Band Preference or Preferred Band in the property list. 3. Set its value to Prefer 5GHz to force stable connections on modern bands.
