# Step 1: Uninstall Riot Vanguard

The central driver Vanguard runs at kernel levels and might conflict with other system processes: 1. Close all active game launchers. 2. In your system tray, right-click the red Riot Vanguard icon and select More > Uninstall Vanguard. Click Yes. 3. Click Start, type Apps & Features, select Riot Vanguard, and click Uninstall.

# Step 2: Trigger Automatic Reinstall

1. Restart your machine. 2. Open the Riot Client launcher. 3. Select League of Legends. 4. Click the blue Update button (this forces the client to download and register a clean, verified release of Vanguard). 5. Reboot your system again to initialize Vanguard.
