Force Restart Steps

Perform a hardware force restart of your iPhone components to clear frozen memory segments and bypass the Apple logo loop.

# Step 1: Hardware Force Restart Actions

Depending on your iPhone model version, run the following button combination:

1. For iPhone 8 and Newer (including 11, 12, 13, 14, 15): Press and quickly release Volume Up. Press and quickly release Volume Down. Hold the Side button down until the Apple logo disappears and reappears. Let go. 2. For iPhone 7/7 Plus: Hold the Volume Down and Sleep/Wake buttons together until the Apple logo appears. 3. Test if your phone boots to your lock screen.

# Step 2: Use Recovery Mode with iTunes / Finder

1. Connect your iPhone to your computer via USB. 2. Open iTunes (or Finder on macOS Monterey and newer). 3. Put your device into Recovery mode using the button steps above, but keep holding the buttons until you see the computer connection graphic. 4. Select Update on your screen to install macOS mobile systems without losing files.
