To fix GTA V startup crashes immediately, run DirectX Web installer updates to repair broken shaders and verify integrity caches.# Step 1: Verify Game File Integrity
Corrupted game assets or story textures will crash RAGE engine platforms: 1. On Epic Games: Go to Library, click the three dots on GTA V, click Manage, and select Verify. 2. On Steam: Right-click GTA V in Library > Properties > Installed Files and select Verify integrity of game files.
# Step 2: Delete RAGE Cache & Graphics Settings
1. Open your Windows File Explorer directory.
2. Go to Documents > Rockstar Games > GTA V.
3. Locate the file named settings.xml and change its name to settings.old (this forces the engine to build brand new safe settings parameters matching your hardware).
4. Restart your system and load into Los Santos.
